REM Upcycles Tech to Local Theatre Group
Last week Real Estate Management (UK) LTD donated 13 refurbished iPhones and 2 laptops to the London Bubble Theatre, building on the existing partnership.
The donation follows a successful fundraiser hosted at The Shard in March, where London Bubble Theatre exceeded their initial funding target on their first night of fundraising.
The London Bubble Theatre, known for its vibrant performances and commitment to inclusivity, often struggles with limited resources. Technology is increasingly vital in modern theatre production, from managing ticket sales and communications to facilitating virtual rehearsals and multimedia presentations. However, for a community group, acquiring the necessary technology can be a significant financial burden.
Recognising this need, REM upcycled several devices to promote sustainability. By refurbishing and repurposing older technology, this donation not only prevents electronic waste from ending up in landfills but also provides valuable resources to organisations that can make good use of them.
Marie VickersThis kind of generosity is incredibly significant for a small charity like ours! With limited resources, upgrading our technology often gets postponed as we always prioritise our service delivery to ensure our beneficiaries continue to receive free, high-quality theatre opportunities. We are thrilled that REM continues to support us and that we can benefit from their efforts to be more sustainable.

This donation will enable the London Bubble Theatre to streamline administrative tasks, enhance marketing efforts, and explore new creative avenues in their productions. The laptops will assist with scriptwriting, production planning, and running virtual workshops, while the iPhones will be used for social media updates, capturing behind-the-scenes content, and maintaining efficient communication among team members.
